Called in for target chamber vacuum loss.

Found that someone had tied a radiation rope to the vacuum line that provides backing to the upper chamber turbo and to the Big Bite spectrometer. When Big Bite was moved it pulled the rope … pulling the vacuum line … breaking its attach points…putting pressure on the KF flange clamp that ties the upper line to the pump… breaking the clamp and causing a leak. (thanks Rube)

This spoiled the vacuum in the chamber before the turbo valves could close and caused the target to warm up.

We removed the rope, replaced the clamp and re-attached the vacuum line.

We replaced the bellows at the turbo just in case it might have been damaged.

Target pump down went very smoothly and is now in the low 5 range and ready for cool down.

The exit beam pipe in now about 150 mtorr and coming down fast with a blower. I will remove it before I leave.

We reattached the rope using a magnet for an attach point.
