    keyword=Status of the HRS magnets

    For this test running I do not think there is a problem with the magnets as they are. The LD1 (Left Dipole) 480VAC current draw seems a little unstable at about 1000A, but I think we have been running with that for quite some time. It needs to be looked at, but does not seem to be causing problems with operation. Since that is higher than we will be running the Left Dipole, we can look at it later. The RQ1 seems to have some issues with output stability, again something that we have been running with for quite some time without noticeable effect. The RQ3 is limited to 1100A output. There is a voltage offset somewhere in the regulation loop. The output limits around 1120A, with no real regulation in the output current. Probably no harm for a short time, but it should not be left like that. Really, 1050A is about as high as it can go with reliable current regulation. Again, we will look at the RQ3 after this test running is over.
