    keyword=Right Septum power supply

    The Septa power supplies tripped off a number of times. I ran the current up in just the Left Septum. I was able to take the HKS supply up to 600 amps. I ran the current up in just the Right Septum. The BigBite power supply tripped off while ramping up. It tripped with a "Cryogenic Fault" on the GUI, LED 13 lit on the control board, and "EARTH LEAKAGE FAULT" on the local display unit. Pulling one of the wires for the ground fault out of the connector on the control board will generate the same LED 13 fault. I connected one DMM from the "+" flag to ground and another DMM from the "-" flag to ground. The voltages at currents were: 0A 0.001V -0.0074V 20A 1.830V -1.8268V 50A 4.571V -4.554V 100A 9.14V -9.10V 200A 18.31V -18.22V It then tripped while ramping to 300A. I did not see anything unusual on the voltmeters before the trip. I then disconnected the cables from the output flags inside the power supply. I connected a high voltage power supply from the leads to ground. At 400V I got .27mA which gives about 1.48Mohm to ground, in line with what I had measured previously. I'm thinking there might be a problem with the ground fault detector. The supply seems to trip off right around 250 amps. The folks from Accelerator will have to take a look at it.
