keyword=Evening Shift Summary
19:15 - Ron and I entered the Hall A gas shack. Raised ethane from ball reading=23 to ball reading=25. Otherwise, it would appear that injector tuning is proceeding okay.
19:35 - Gas alarm sounds. It would appear that after reaching equilibrium, the actual ethane increase was more than we intended, causing the gas alarm to trip. After phoning Jack Segal, we hit the gas system reset switch, and wait for things to restabilize.
20:30 - This time being absolutely sure that the system is equilibrated before finalizing the settings, we end up with Ethane=25, Argon=72. Ron was concerned earlier that the ethane may have been insufficient for quenching, causing problems with the FPP chambers. Accelerator tuning is proceeding slowly but smoothly.
23:15 - Gas alarm sounds again. After resetting, Argon ball was at 80. Lowered Argon back down to 72 and wait to see what happens. I highly recommend that the next shift watch this closely!
