I did what should be a final PS gain matching last night, so those
HV settings should stay the same. The TS was crudely gain matched, but at
850 MeV, the electron 'peak' is somewhere around 300-400 MeV, and overlaps
with the pion peak (which should be ~200 MeV). I told haiyan that we'd
have to wait until 2 pass or higher to do a good calibration. I'm hoping
that you and Frank can make sure the calibration code is in espace, and
that we can do a preliminary calibration at 1 pass, and a final one at a
higher energy. I presume that the code uses the gas cerenkov to tag
electrons, so we may have to wait until it is calibrated. Once we have
the software calibration for the TS (and PS), we can decide if the TS high
voltages need to be changed, or if they are gain matched well enough for
this experiment (probably a spokesperson and/or run coordinator level
decision). Let me know how it's going, or if I can do anything to help.
If you can tell me when they have a good run (ideally full illumination of
the focal plane with an extended target at 30 degrees or larger), I can
do some of the work remotely, it's just hard to keep up on what's going on
    from Argonne.
