    keyword=re: starting CODA after crashes

    CODA crashes at least once a day for various
    reasons. If a component crashes (e.g. ROC14)
    the quickest recovery is reboot that component,
    wait for it to come back alive, press "reset" in
    runcontrol, and dowload, startrun. Even simpler, if the
    component is still up, i.e. one can still see 'coda_roc'
    running in the process list -- by typing 'i' at the
    arrow prompt of the login -- one can usually even
    get away with a simple runcontrol reset. However, if
    this simplest recovery does not work, do a COLD
    RESTART, which takes more time but has a very
    high chance of success. I've done it hundreds of times.
    COLD RESTART basically means: reboot ALL crates,
    KCODA, and PRESS RESET in runcontrol when it comes
    back. Details in the sections on resets and cold starts in
    hallaweb.jlab.org/equipment/daq/guide2.html.
    Admittedly there remains a tiny fraction of cases when
    the guide doesn't work and you may certainly call me.
