    keyword=LD2 target during trip

    We are currently experiencing outstanding beam quality. After 1h40 of beam at 50uA, we could finally observe our first beam trip. I took the opportunity to look at recovery time for the LD2 target.

    It took 1minute for the beam to ramp up from 0 to 50uA. It took 2 more minutes for the temperature to stabilize (slow decrease from 22.5 to 22.0 K), and again 2 more minutes for the pressure to stabilize (down from 19 to 17.5 PSI in 1 minute, and then ~3.5 minutes from 17.5 to 18 PSI).
