    keyword=HV problems

    During the break we checked HV. We noticed that L-arm Gas C channel 2.0
    (first channel on card 2) as well as the whole Pion Rejector is disabled -- perhaps
    it is intentional (?). But there is also some confusion about the EPICS GUI screens,
    see fig 1. Problems are: 1) The label of this screen says "Right Arm HV Summary"
    but it is actually Left Arm. Similarly the other arm's screen is reversed. 2) The
    summary seems to have card numbering shifted. E.g. it shows card 2 is S1/S2 Right
    but I think it is Gas Cerenkov. I think the card numbers are: 0 = S1/S2 Left,
    1 = S1/S2 Right, 2 = GasCerenkov. I have some unexpressed doubts about the
    other L-arm data displayed. Another problem is that we are not sure what is
    normal HV. Some info is posted in recent halog, but is based on these screens.
    Do we trust it ? By the way, the Right Arm HV (which EPICS calls Left Arm)
    looks consistent: All HV are on and the readbacks between EPICs and VT100 interface (portserver) agree.

    My suggestions: 1) Someone from e98108 be assigned to control this.
    2) That person should post what is the HV map (a good start already exists
    in counting room, it is probably correct) and what is normal HV value (sorry
    I didn't see this, maybe it takes some data mining in halog). 3) That person
    should post clear instructions on how to check HV. I made an attempt at this
    by writing an appendix to ~adaq/doc/portserver.doc
