    keyword=LVDT's (read before spectrometer move)

    Before moving spectrometers the LVDT's should be checked to make sure they are working. If readbacks at the top of the alignment box on the main control screen show "normal readings" (what they showed after the last move) then things are OK. If there seems to be a problem check the more advanced LVDT control screens*.
    Copies are attached.
    The thing to look for is that the set values (right column) and the readback values (left column) agree. If they don't try typing in the set values as shown below (there are hard copies in the log book too.) If that doesn't work call Javier.

    After you're finished looking at these screens close them. In general they shouldn't be tampered with (Javier says "if you change those numbers you're ascrewed"

    *These screens cannot be accessed from the standard control screen. To get them you must open a terminal session then:
    start medm: type > medm
    in medm click: file, open
    open file /home/hacuser/disp/HRSL/HacL_HPM_LVDT.adl
    and /home/hacuser/disp/HRSR/HacR_HPM_LVDT.adl
