    Dear Collaborator,

early this morning, we finished data taking for our last kinematics at 4.2
GeV (the mid-epsilon points for the L/T separations). After that we
took data on the optics target for the last settings. Remember that due
to the uncertain status of the target motion we stayed on the hydrogen
target until all kinematics were finished. Currently, we are taking data
on the dummy target. We hardly expect any coincident eK background from
the cell walls to the Lambda missing mass distributions, but, would like
to confirm this with one longer run.

Early in the swing shift we will hand over the beam for the weekend for
some planned tests. The remaining time until then will be used to increase
the statistic in one of our kinematics on the hydrogen target.

This evening until Saturday afternoon will be devoted to a H(e,e'pi+)
study led by Xiaodong Jiang. Saturday evening until Sunday 24:00, there
will be a test of a third arm neutron detector. Monday 00:00, the
accelerator will attempt to bring NL11 (North Linac module 11) back
on-line. This is likely to reduce the trip rate at the higher linac energy
planned for the next weeks. Monday morning, the linac energy will be
changed to 1.134GeV/pass. We will get 5-pass beam and finish up the
kinematics for the high-epsilon points that we missed in the short January
    period.

This afternoon, my term as run-coordinator ends and our spokesperson Pete
Markowitz will taker over until the open house. After the open house, we
will wrap everything up with a set of optics and acceptance studies, most
likely led by John LeRose as run-coordinator.

There are still a few open slots in the upcoming shift schedule. You'll
receive a second mail with a request.

I wish you all a happy Easter Holiday.

    Best regards,

    Joerg
