keyword=Target: Addition of transverse gradient, EPR
After discussion with JP (Xiaochao), decided to continue pumping in long. mode after last EPR/NMR measurements.
- rotated field to 0 degrees
- turned on lasers #4,6,7
Tried to estimate the size of the transverse gradient needed. EEL lab had
larger transverse than longitudinal gradient (7 A, 20 turns, 19 degrees ->
6.6A*20 turns in transverse direction).
Wolfgang talked to JP again and we agreed to start with the
following configuration:
- tranverse gradient coil: 4.0 A
- longitudinal gradient coil: -3.0 A (reverse)
First EPR measurment with laser #6 on:
0 order fit:
1st flip: P = 37.4 +/- 1.9%
2nd flip: P = 36.5 +/- 1.8%
Program for the next hours:
use only one method to measure polarization (EPR), if no change
after first EPR measurement, do EPR every 4 hours (twice, i.e.
keep this configuration for 8 hours (at least)).
If large polarization loss in 4 hours, try to recover polarization (either
long. grad. coil at 5.00A or, if losses are really large, go back to
transverse mode.)
