keyword=Delta asymmetry discrepancy
About inconsistency in delta asymmetry analysis, Alexandre and I found that the
asymmetry has a momentum dependence for run #1456. Two plots shown here are:
Figure 1:
-top, left: number of events vs. deltaP for run #1455;
-top, right: number of events vs. deltaP for run #20455;
-bottom, left: asymmetry vs. deltaP for #1455;
-bottom, right: asymmetry vs. deltaP for # 20455;
Figure 2 is the same thing for run #1456 and #20456;
The problem is that run #1456 asymmetry has a (strong) momentum dependence,
so the final result depends on what cut is used in analysis. Alexandre did a tight cut
in inv. mass, which corresponds to (almost) central region of deltaP, for run #1456
this will give a larger asymmtry. But they should be consistent within statistical error.
I hope this is the real reason. We are still checking it.
