There was a target rupture at approximately 8:05 pm.
The sequence of events:
I noticed that when you chose the empty target position on the target lifting GUI, the target went to BeO. Then I tried to move to a carbon target. The motion of the lifter seemed very jerky, so I killed the motion half way through the move. The position of the target seemed to be off, so I decided to run the home routine. In the home routine, the lifter goes up to the home switch and then down a little and then up to the home switch again. During the period of down motion, the low pressure deuterium alarm went off. Then many fault lights on the lifter came on. I didn't know what had occurred, so I flipped the close JT valve switch to close all the JT valves. I then saw that the target pressure of loop 3 was 15.8 K.
Upon inspection in the Hall, it appears that the target went past a limit switch and impacted with the floor inside the scattering chamber. The pressure ruptured at least one of the cells on Loop 3, but Loop 2 appears undamaged. The target group and Hall A tech on Call (Mark Stevens) and target on call (JP Chen) are investigating.
