Here the plots of y_target for run 1148 and 1149 (runs with low current to understand what was wrong with the optic carbon target).
We see that there is something happening in front of the target (it is left arm plots and positive so the peak is upstream). But there is also a large flat background all along the target.
If one compares the plots of runs 1148 and 1149, one can see that the little bumps on the flat part are here for both runs. So it must be the c12 foils and not some statistical fluctuations. If one knows the geometry of the cell, one can also check that.
The right arm spectra show much less stat so it is hard to say anything beside the fact that the problem occurs upstream.
