keyword=day shift
Initial status: at the beginning of the shift we are nearing the end of setting 4.5.2
with the right dipole off. It tripped on the owl shift and several attempts failed to
reach the required current. Mark Stevens has been called and wants it ramped
near the trip point before he arrives.
0830: end run 20294/1294/1252
note: neglected to end 1294 until 0912 (assumed incorrectly that it was
not running because right dipole ramping down, but it is junk anyway)
0900: polarization measurement. NMR = 35.59, EPR=35.15
0910: Mark Stevens arrives and is running diagnostics while we continue to coax
right dipole up.
0912: start 20295/1295/1253 with empty reference
0946: end empty reference
0950: start 20296/1296/1254 with 147 psi N2 reference cell
1025: end
1030: right dipole trips at 725 A
1043: start kin 4.5.6 with 3He, 0deg, beam&target half-wave plates out, RWP=6435
runs 20297/1297/1255
1145: end 20297
1148: start 20298/1298/1256, current still at 130 A and dropping
1239: end run 20298, call for access, current at 58 A
1245: Chen, Craver, Stevens enter Hall. Bogdan follows at about 1300
1345: everybody out, request beam, right dipole up to 333 A and rising
1400: polarization measurement NMR=34.74, EPR=35.84
1415: resume kin 4.5.6 with runs 20299/1299/1257
1440: right dipole has reached 700 A and we are now nudging it up
1525: end 20299, start 20300/1300/1258. Right dipole at 729, creeping up.
This should be the last (1 hour) run at 4.5.6. Still need to do 4.5.5 (270 deg, target half-wave plate out) and carbon to finish these kinematics.
