    keyword=Validity of EPR calibration

    When I saw the result of the EPR-NMR calibration from early this morning, I was skeptical of the value. For one the constant (2.47 %/mV) is much lower than I would have expected. Since we moved the one coil out, if anything the constant should be larger not smaller because the flux would decrease.

    Since masing was seen during the first EPR, I would expect that the EPR polarization from pumping chamber began to drop immediately, but the polarization from the target chamber (NMR) drops at a much slower rate at the beginning. So since this was the case, I would believe that the calibration constant probably is not valid.

    Since I have a good calibration for Duke from EPR, I can calculate the flux for Exodus and calculate a calibration constant based on the flux difference between the two cells.
