    Beam returned at about midnight. After working a bit to improve
    beam quality, we commenced with background studies which are
    not easy to summarize and one should refer to the several halog entries:
    A lot of short runs with different conditions -- target in/out, sieve in/out,
    collimation in/out, beam position movement, etc. The data taking for
    this shift is finished and we've asked for access so that Ed Folts can work.
