    keyword=More Septum Tuning

    Since we were hesitant to increase the Septum magnet current too much, we decided to lower the momentum of the Right HRS to center the y_tg spectrum and center the central hole in the VDC plane. Figure 1 shows the plot (top) of y_rot vs. th_rot and the y_tg spectrum with Septum at 405.75A and the HRS momentum lowered by 1% to 3.12 GeV/c. Figure 2 shows the same plots with the HRS momentum lowered by another ~0.5% to 3.10 GeV/c and the Septum current increased to 409A.

    R-HRS Momentum Iread y_tg center

    3.15 GeV/c 403.75A -7 mm
    3.15 GeV/c 405.75A -5 mm
    3.12 GeV/c 405.75A -3 mm
    3.10 GeV/c 409.0 A ~0 mm
