keyword=RHWP scan aborted
Tried a RHWP scan during the kinematics change, but MCC took the beam away
for an FOPT just after I started. I gave up, so that I wouldn't interfere with production.
What I did:
1) reset PC HV to "best circular polarization" values: +7.383, -7.518. Reset IA
cell to 5.0. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn off feedback, so Run 3815 pegged the
IA cell. Reset IA cell to 5.0, and turned off feedback. Beam HWP was IN.
2) Beam at 10 uA, Run 3816. Measured only to RHWP points before beam
vanished.
RHWP=7000 (140 degrees), Aq = -4170, ev#<2500
RHWP=6500(130 deg) Aq=-4970, ev#>3800
So, this doesn't look terribly promising in this region. Still, we should try again.
A reduction in sensitivity to linear polarization may improve some systematic effects,
such as the large separation of multiple peaks in the charge asymmetry.
