8:00 Beam about to appear again after CHL crash

          We accept this.

9:16  Raster on--current reading now 28 x 16 to get about 3.5 x 3.7

9:29  Start 3He running in KIN 8.16

9:49  Calculate 7.4 M counts needed, assuming Ptarget .43. (Last reading was .40 at 3AM and beam has been off) and Pbeam .75. In 

3He spectrum, 94K/300K good. 

10:17 Beam HWP inserted.

11:20 Ask for target masking to change target polar direction. 

Yellow bar came up, but it didn't say "target masked". MCC assured us that the slits were closed, and indeed we had no beam. Confirmed by JP. [14:24 Now seeing text again within yellow bar.]

removed at about this time. No note in this log or elog, but operator

checked and confirmed this time.]

12:00 Beam has been unsteady. MCC called, and say they have to bypass 

a cavity.

15:20 failed to end run for L-HRS (ROC14 disconnected <-- error message)

15:23 killing coda and restarting run-control did not solve the

problem

15:32 inserted half-wave plate (beam)

15:37 Vince rebooted ROC14 and kcoda (L-HRS) again. This fixed the

     problem.

16:02 beam half-wave plate out, start rotating field to 270 deg.
