    keyword=Right-arm VDC current draw

    After removing the sieve slit and installing the collimator in the scattering chamber, very high trigger rates in T1 were observed when the beam returned. A point concerning the amount of current being drawn in the VDCs was raised; the levels were reading around -15uA.

    The VDC operations webpage,

    http://www.jlab.org/~fissum/vdcs/operations/operations.html

    states that if everything is working properly, then the current draw readback should show norminal values of LESS THAN 30. Since the readback values we are now observing are less than 30, we are continuing to run as before. A screenshot of the Hall A General Tools, showing the VDC current draw is attached.

    If anyone has any further insight into the levels of current being drawn by the VDCs, please pass them on to the run coordinator.
