keyword=Pion Background increasingFigures 1 and 2 are show the gas Cherenkov spectrum and the E/p plot for the Shower and preshower detectors for Kin. 12.14 and Run # 3972. As can be seen from both the plots the number of pions has increased and the pion peak is larger than the electron peak. The Right HRS momentum is 2.318 GeV/c. The pion-electron ratio is on the order of 1.7 based on the pid and anti-pid cuts I used in my program.
