    1) after RICH operators see a RICH trip, they should acknowledge and
reset the ALARM by pressing "Clear All Alarms" on the CAEN GUI.
Otherwise the status will remain "TRIP" or "UNEXPECTED" and future
    alarms might be overseen.

    2) the ON/OFF button on the CAEN Controls screen do not reflect
the actual state of the RICH, the status can only be seen on the
    CAEN Readback screen

    3) there is sometimes a problem with the DAQ not downloading
the pedestals for the RICH. Shiftworkers therefore have to
very after starting a run, that deadtimes and eventsize are
in the allowed range. (e.g. look on the Coda screen for the
Rates and devide the number for kb/s by the rate in events/s,
the eventsize should be 1.5 - 3 kb/event. Otherwise the pedestals
have not been updated. If that happens, ROC12/ROC16 need to be rebooted and the CODA needs to be reseted and the withrich
configuration needs to be downloaded. Ask the expert, if you
    are unsure.)
