for some reason, the In Beam label under cryostat reads Clear even though the carbon target is in.
Issue 2:
for Eugene's detector studies, he wanted to illuminate the entire focal plane. therefore we tried to put in one of the optics target. when i clicked on the Optics button, nothing happened. this was true for both the 10 cm and 24 cm optics target. i thought that maybe the GUI was having problems. i clicked on Empty and then the Move Target window popped up. i didn't move the target to empty. however, this test tells me that the GUI is probably okay on the front end (i.e. not hung up). we decided to just stay at Carbon single foil.
