    Followups:

keyword=BCM ioc not responding to reboot

we've tried rebooting iocha5 quite a few times from the web (http://hareboot5), this doesn't seem to be working. i also looked for more info at http://devweb.acc.jlab.org/controls_web/LLAPPS/TroubleGuides/hallA.html

i informed RC Paul of the situation. he says that it's not a disaster if we don't have BCM info for a few runs but we should keep him informed of the situation.

i called MCC. they tried to reboot it remotely. they failed. we found the physical IOC box and tried to reset it manually with our hands. we failed.

there is a box (10kHz RMS DC converter) that has two LCDs which seems to be displaying the beam current as measured from the upstream and downstream BCMs. that leads us to conclude that the BCMs are working. it's probably just some epics communication problem???

note also that the HP 3458A (x2) multimeters were not displaying anything. we turned them on and off and now they are are updating every sec and showing a DC voltage. hmmm...is this right?

current status as of 0400, MCC has called software-on-call. we can monitor the beam current by checking the IBC0L02, which is the Hall A beam current at the injector.
