keyword=instability in beam?this is the stripchart for energy spread taken at 0334. the purple is the x rms width in mm at the OTR 1C12. the forrest green is the energy spread as measured in the SLI using the model data. the spring green is the x position of the beam in mm at the OTR 1C12.
in the last few hours we've been seeing instabilities in all three of these numbers. these instabilities were not there in the preceding 24 hrs (see halog 123648). we have noticed that when the values go crazy, the DataValid flag is No on the OTR 1C12 Datacube screen. this is probably because the beam profile is very noisy and has a distorted shape during that time. correspondingly, the SLI interference pattern goes crazy as well. what's causing these jitters?
