    keyword=reloading the PLC for septa

    Heidi, Malek, Peter LaViolette, Konrad went down to see how to reload the PLC software. This involves several steps:

    The computer (HACweb2) is on the Labyrinth Cart 1 outside the controlled doors. There is a 3.5" diskette there, ver4b, which keeps a copy of the files needed to run the septa.

    The terminal and monitor for this computer are in the Hall. It runs on Windows 2000.
    click start-programs-Directsoft32-Dirctsoft32 program tools-Directsoft32 program
    kill popup dialog screen
    unplg the communication cable in the front of the PLC box, a black box to the left and down from the monitor and also turn the switch to term.
    -open latest version, for example version7
    -if "fatal" appears in red it means the program is corrupted
    if this is so then load the floppy ( it will be on the HACweb2 computer in the personnel hallway) version4b to the Desktop. Load a second copy of version4b to the desktop.
    copy this version4b from the Desktop to
    c:/ProgramFiles2/Directsoft32/Projects/version8  ( note new name)
    also copy to
    c:/SEPTUM CONTROL SOFTWARE/PLC software/version8

    in the program Directsoft32 write the new version into the PLC

    There are also two sheets of paper taped to the cabinet next to the monitor which contain the names of the files you need to open.

    Probably it is best to contact the tech on call to do these steps.
