    keyword=Procedure for linearity scan

    Procedure for the linearity study:

    1) Verify that the iocse10 and iocse8 bpms are in forced gain.

    2) call MCC and ask them to run the "current ramping" script,
    which was written by Michelle Joyce for this purpose.

    3) stop the HAPPEX DAQ and Compton runs

    4) Turn off feedback:
      > feedback off (typed as apar on adaql1)
    and turn off beam modulation:
      click the "set kill switch" button on the "bmw" screen of the greenmonster
    configuration GUI.

    5) Set ADC 23 into high gain. On the "ADCs, Counting House" tab
    of the greenmonster GUI:
      click the "high gain" button by ADC 23, THEN CLICK "APPLY SETTINGS"!
      click the "get settings" button to verify this has been applied.

    6) Start the HAPPEX DAQ and the Compton DAQ. Take data for approximately 10
    cycles (10-15 minutes). Each cycle requires the MCC operator to answer a
    prompt in order to send beam to the Hall, so keep a watch that we don't sit at
    zero current very long, in case the op gets distracted.

    7) Stop both the HAPPEX and Compton DAQs. Tell MCC you're done with the scan.
    * Set ADC 23 into low gain (see step 5).
    * Restart feedback
      > feedback on (typed as apar on adaql1)
    * and turn on beam modulation:
       click the "start beam modulation" button on the bmw greenmonster
    screen. if this button isn't there, first click "check status" to make sure
    the modulation isn't already running.

    8) Restart production!
