00 Shift begins with run 1728 in progress for kinematic D1 (liquid deuterium target, L-HRS = 54.0 deg., R-HRS = 17.0 deg., p_left = 0.98 GeV/c, p_right = 1.883 GeV/c). Trying to establish a triple coincidence with both HRS' and the neutron detector.
30 Noticed that neutron detector channel N2-7L had a low scaler value and correspondingly had a poor adc and tdc in the replay. This needs attention - it might only need a higher voltage.
30 An error message from the MEDM appeared and explained that communication with one of the IOCs was lost. It turned out to be the neutron and proton detector high voltage crates. We decided not to reset it yet because we could see everything was working fine on the scaler displays.
00 - 07:10 Problem with coda - lost connection to TS2. Tried to restart coda and then found a problem with TS0. Tried a crate reset for TS0 but when this did not work, we called the run coordinator. Following the RCs instructions on the telephone, we successfully established a connection to TS0 and were able to resume data taking again.
30 Bob Michaels called about the problem with the root file from the analyzer and suggested we shorten the runs so that the final root file after being replayed was smaller. The previous runs with 800K events are about 3.5 GB after being replayed.
00 Shift ends with MCC having delivered beam almost all night long - well done!
