    keyword=Neutron detector channel N1-27L

    During the access this evening, I looked at the signal from the neutron detector channel N1-27L which had a low scaler value and a small adc spectrum. On an oscilloscope, I could see the signal coming out of the amplifier and out of the discriminator, although the trigger rate on the oscilloscope was slow. I compared the raw signal from this PMT to another channel (N1-16L) and found that the signal from N1-27L was weaker. It appears to be a problem with the pmt on this channel. Simply the high voltage may need increasing a little bit, although at the moment it is set to -1350 V and is comparable to other channels. Bodo believes at the moment, we might be better to wait and go through the gain setting process again for all channels, since there are a number that appear to have a low scaler value.
