    Negative deadtimes are a red flag. It is not likely that there
    are outright bugs in datamon, though admittedly the correction for
    correlations is not exact. However, if you are worried about that,
    you should use the THaNormAna class in Podd to check that the dead-
    time for each trigger is small and the same. (A "trigger-average" deadtime
    is not rigorously meaningful, but is a somewhat useful online indication,
    and is what datamon shows.) What is more likely, and also somewhat dangerous,
    is that some signal is multiple-pulsing
    or a similar hardware problem (flakey cable or module). However,
    since the DAQ rates are very low, the deadtime is probably small
    except in rare cases like huge events from noise or network problems.
