Jul 26, 9:00, Rob Feuerbach, Run Coordinator (pager
584-7254)
Remember to read the White Board
Program:
- Establish beam
- Production running at the +10% septum-excitation setting (page R.C.
after run is started)
Nominal and Production settings
- HRS momentum/magnet settings:
| L-HRS | R-HRS | |
P0 | 2.737 | 2.733 | GeV/c |
Septum I | 283.57 | 278.11 | A (set
current) |
- 38 microamps (or highest possible with
Tseptum~7.64K)
- Raster request 14x14, which is about 7x7mm2 (5x5
seen by spot++)
- Beam position:
| X (mm) | Y (mm) | |
BPMA | 1.6 | 0.0 | +/- 0.2. Less important
|
BPMB | -1.4 | 0.0 | +/- 0.2. IMPORTANT
|
- Target: 4He, Fan Speed = 60Hz
- Sweeper ON at 111A
- Spectrometer detectors OFF
- Charge asymmetry feedback: On the RunBird GUI the Hall-A and
Hall-C IA should be ON.
- Beam Modulation: On Green Monster GUI: Beam modulation should
be ON.
- The Lumi and HAPPEx detectors should readout at ~45k channels (check
display in panguin);
the high voltage (HV) can be adjusted to keep them in this region.
See the HowTo.
. Record any changes in HV
- Keep septum coil temperatures below 7.67K!
Establishing beam for the Helium target
- Before beam is permitted back into the hall after an extended
down (more than
2hrs) or the beam tune has been changed, the target should be in the
Empty position.
- If it is a new tune, take a HARP
SCAN with an unrastered beam to check the intrinsic spot size.
- Verify the raster size by taking a pulser run with the
spectrometer DAQ, with the prescale factors ps7 and ps8 set to 1 and
running spot++. The actual size of the rastered beam spot is 1.5* the
image dimensions in spot++. Iterate with MCC until the raster size is
correct.
- Insert the Helium target, and ask for beam starting at a maximum current
of 10uA and ramp up (over a minute) to the operating current while the
target operator watches the HPH and CHL 4K He flow.
Data-taking Tasks
- Every HAPPEX-DAQ run
- Watch output of panguin to monitor data from current run.
- Analyze the run. As apar:
gopan; prompt.pl
runnumber
Compare the results with the reference plots.
- Check the Compton DAQ (at least every 2 hours)
Instructions for the simple "normal" running and fixes are listed next to
the computer
- Every 12 hours of production dataChange the status
of the half-wave plate.
- Two times a day (when
Profiler/Scanner expert is on shift) take a profile run
(10min).
General Tasks:
- HALOG any detector, DAQ trip and unusual observation when
they happen.
- Do shift checklist.
- Once a shift HALOG control screens and septum strip charts.
- Any problem that prevents data taking and that you do not know how
to solve, or have not solved within 20 min page the
Run-Coordinator.
- Contact the Run-Coordinator before the Tech
on-call. Any problems that are not emergencies, please make a HALOG entry
with "TECH" in the keyword.
Please log below (and in the HALOG) any unusual observations and
problems solved
