keyword=TECH: lost Left arm IOC
We lost the Left HRS IOC (most of the MEDM screens go white,
except for Septum and Q1 readback). Did a hareboot on iocha14.
No joy, Did a second reboot, and controls return. Q2 and Q3 were
off, and dipole at the wrong set point. Had to recycle quads.
Additional problem: when we type in the setpoint for the momentum P0
(2.737 GeV), the set current for the dipole does not seem to respond, i.e., it
stays at 909 A. We try the usual trick of
toggling the last digit in P0 (which the quads notice and respond
to) but the dipole did not change its set point or readback
current to respond. So, Stanley types in a set current to the
dipole control to get close to the right readback current. Find
that the NMR regulation of the dipole wasn't on. With it on, it
locks in; at the P0 was ask for we have a slightly new readback
current of 950.71 A.
This is slightly different than what we (based on previous screen
captures of Hall A tools), which had a current readback of
951.19 A. However, NMR is locked, so we assume the field is
correct. Is this hysteresis?
We did rememeber to reset the septum current to our new (+10%)
nominal after the last time we touched the P0 setting.
HAPPEX Run 3968 is right arm only.
HAPPEX Run 3969 has both arms again.
(if we lose both arms, do we take Venus de Milo data?)
