    Entry number 157960

keyword=how to get your coulombs on

to calculate the coulombs for your shift:

    (1) get the run numbers that correspond to the first and last runs for your shift (make sure you are not counting runs from the previous shift)

    (2) ssh to apar@adaql3 (password on the wall)

    (3) type "gopan" and press enter

    (4) type "jgetC [first run number] [last run number]" and press enter

    (5) the number of total coulombs for those runs (inclusive) will be listed. that is not the final number b/c you have to correct for bad runs and for one arm runs.

    (6) subtract any cosmic/bad/no beam run coulombs from the grand total listed

    (7) now, for runs that were with only one arm, subtract half the coulombs for those runs from the total so far

    (8) what you have left are you coulombs

    sample usage:

    [adaq@adaql8 adaq]$ ssh apar@adaql3
    [apar@adaql3 ~]$ gopan

****** This directory for ONLINE analysis (Shift-Workers only, please) ******

    [apar@adaql3 ~/HAPPEX05/pan]$ jgetC 5870 5877

Getting my count on for total coulombs from run(s) 5870 to 5877 (inclusive):

    5870 : ok pairs = 41837...bcm3 (converted) = 57.53 microAmps with (raw = 54775)...run 5870 is good = 0.156 (max = 0.186 C) and total = 0.156 (eff = 83.6%)
    5871 : ok pairs = 37922...bcm3 (converted) = 57.6 microAmps with (raw = 54838)...run 5871 is good = 0.141 (max = 0.187 C) and total = 0.298 (eff = 75.8%)
    5872 : ok pairs = 33047...bcm3 (converted) = 57.75 microAmps with (raw = 54983)...run 5872 is good = 0.124 (max = 0.187 C) and total = 0.422 (eff = 66%)
    5873 : ok pairs = 39298...bcm3 (converted) = 58.01 microAmps with (raw = 55226)...run 5873 is good = 0.148 (max = 0.188 C) and total = 0.57 (eff = 78.5%)
    5874 : ok pairs = 36574...bcm3 (converted) = 58.08 microAmps with (raw = 55292)...run 5874 is good = 0.138 (max = 0.188 C) and total = 0.708 (eff = 73.1%)
    5875 : ok pairs = 43048...bcm3 (converted) = 58.05 microAmps with (raw = 55266)...run 5875 is good = 0.162 (max = 0.188 C) and total = 0.871 (eff = 86%)
    5876 : ok pairs = 38482...bcm3 (converted) = 58.15 microAmps with (raw = 55359)...run 5876 is good = 0.145 (max = 0.188 C) and total = 1.016 (eff = 76.9%)
    5877 : ok pairs = 38840...bcm3 (converted) = 58.11 microAmps with (raw = 55328)...run 5877 is good = 0.146 (max = 0.188 C) and total = 1.163 (eff = 77.6%)

The total number of ok pairs was 309.048 kilopairs and the average beam current was 57.91 microAmps.
The maximum possible during an 8 hr shift with that average beam current was about 1.626 C, which gives an efficiency of 71.5 percent.
The maximum possible during those runs (no beam trips) was about 1.505 C, which gives an efficiency of 77.2 percent.
(note that i'm assuming that every run is a two-arm run, so the total maybe be too high!!!!)

Grand Total Coulombs from runs 5870 to 5877 (inclusive) is -----> 1.163 C
