keyword=TECH: left septum is warming up

we just noticed that the left septum is much warmer than before. see fig 1. the red is the upper coil temperature and the light green is the lower coil temperature. normally, the left upper coil is around 6.6K and the left lower coil is about 6.8K. since the 1.5 hr beam downtime earlier this shift, the left septum temperatures have steadily increased to 7.1K (upper) and 7.3K (lower).

for comparison, the right septum temperatures have been the same, see fig 2.

at 0550, we asked for a reduction of the beam current to 55 microamps from 58 microamps to slow the warming of the left septum b/c we don't know the trip point.

the beam positions have looked ok, the spot++ checks out. the only thing we know for sure is that this temp increase is correlated to the beamdown that occurred earlier this shift.
