    keyword=Shift Summary

8:00 Am Day Shift Begins in controlled access.
Bogdan and Albert and Nilanga in the Hall debugging DC.
Alex in the Hall working on the Neutron counter.
Middle and Rear Chamber electronics still not working
10:00 AM Decided to go to beam permit and and continue commisioning. Look at leakage currents as a function of beam curent and beam size. Bogdan, Albert, and Nilanga need sleep. Before clearing Hall, start Coda in the counting house. We can not start coda.
Mark Jones is now helping out. ROC3 and ROC4 need to be rebooted and intialization parameters need to be restored. ROC3 comes up okay.
ROC4 won't reboot remotely. Need to go back into Hall to depress restart button on ROC4 and then read in parameters on local terminal.
    Coda now starts.
10:30 AM Go to beam permit
10:45 AM Started taking runs with no target to check leakage current on all chambers.
Run 2386 no target, 1 ua, no raster, See Halog table of leakage currents. These values reproduce what we saw on Sunday afternoon
except for one value. Discovered that high voltage on sunday was incorrect for middle chamber.
Doug took a harp scan to check beam. Needs to be tuned to achieve a smaller size in the vertical direction. See Halog for Doug's comment.
Run 2387 no target, 5 ua, no raster. Leakage currents about 5 times larger and also reproduce what we saw yesterday. After a few minutes of running middle and rear chambers high voltage tripped. Decided to turn them off.
Sirish will do Compton now. Beam needs to be retuned to reduce the vertical size first,
11:15 AM MCC Lost beam. Doglegs tripped.
11:45 Waiting for beam to return.
    13:50 beam permit.

    Beam back
14:05 Run 2388 5.2 ua, leakage current on chamber 1 same as before. No Raster. See data book page 13

14:10 Doug conducting harp scans. Size of beam is 0.7 x 1.2 mm sigma
or about 1.8 mm by 2.5 mm. Turn on Raster. Observe beam on BeO. Looks okay.

14:30 Run 2389 Raster on 1 ua carbon foils No increase
in leakage current when raster turned on.b See data book page 13 and halog.

14:35 Run 2390 Raster on, 5ua, carbom foils, Leakage current increased. See data book page 13 and halog.

14:50 Run 2390 1 ua Empty reference cell. Leakage currents about the same as air. See data book page 13 and halog

15:00 PM Can not fill cell with hydrogen gas because we think the bottle is closed. Making an access to check it out.

16:00 Shift ends with controlled access.
