keyword=Helicity, QRT good in HAPPEX DAQ
I don't know if this is old news, or new news, but I'm gonna answer the
questions I've been asked, anyway.
The parity DAQ has not detected any problems with helicity, or with the QRT
signal. (This DAQ has not been running continuously, so intermittent problems
are not fully ruled out.)
Run 7041 is ~140k helicity windows (about 1.3 hours) long. In this run, there
were zero detected "sequence" errors, which check both pairsynch and helicity
signals. Below, I attach figure 1 to show that the QRT is _always_ 4 windows
separated from the last.
Just to be clear: the charge asymmetry plots in the halog have also
demonstrated that the helicity information is good. Bad helicity control
signals create pathological multi-peak, which are not observed in the large
charge asymmetry checks performed this morning.
So, I do not believe that there is any problem with helicity. If we continue
to suspect intermittent problems, we should run the HAPPEX DAQ continuously to
verify the integrity of the helicity board. For now, suspicion should be
focused downstream of the separation of helicity signals in the counting house.
