About half of my time this morning was spent to try
to understand the time variables in the root file.
Robert explained to me and others (Nilanga, Seamus, Alex, Brandon)
that we need to use D.ctimeL1A variable (instead of D.bit3 variable
that we used until yesterday) to take a look at coin events. See
Rob's entry 167294.
I also learned that the "cmb_tof" variable (such as na.nd.n1.cmb_tof) is
useful to make a plot of neutron-bar tof histogram. That is a "combined"
tof variable. According to Robert, when the neighboring hits happen
in a neutron plane, this variable holds the time for the earlier hit.
I worked a bit on the macro to check the neutron time alignment
by plotting coin time histograms, but that is still in progress.
I did short replays (5000 events) for 3096, 3097 (2H) to quickly check
the root files. These runs look okay. However, the analysis rate
was only ~10Hz even though the tracking was OFF.
This looks way too slow. I am not sure why. I did those replays from
/adaqfs/home/adaq/e02013/COMMISIONNING/CoincAnalysis dir, but next time
I will use the official Q2_2.5/bb_tracking directory as Rob announced.
I plan to do full replays for these runs on the Farm.
Seamus told me that a full replay for a 2H run (3040 taken on 3/16)
with tracking ON has been done and it is
/adaql3/work1/e02013/BB_tracking/onlroot/e02013_3040.root
there are more than 30,000 events with tracking succeeded, so this run
indeed looks useful. I will look into more.
