keyword=BPM calibration versus harps scan aborted
I have decided to abort the calibration of the bpm versus the harp. Two
reasons for that :
- harp 1ha103B was sticky. This is showned in that
entry. One should note that the stickiness develloped with time (that
is during the ~ 30mn the crew was attempting the scans). This behavior
was already reported last Thrusday by Adams. When A. Freyberger (the
expert) look at the problem Friday he did not found anything. Maybe the
problem has to do with repeated use ? From the entry loged aboved you can
also see that the harp 1ha103A is noisy, it doesn't prevent measurment
but it is unfortunate that the harp that moves nicely is the noisy one ...
- Our Fast-Feedback is marginal. It can be turned on and every thing
will look nomal for a while but eventually a "calibration failure" will
occurs. This is why MCC wants so time to investigate the problem. This
morning the beam looked pretty stable (the ffb seemed to be on) so we
gave it a try. Well unfortunatly while trying to run the harps The beam
position jumped on us... MCC said it might quite have been the ffb that
failed (we asked them only later)
Given all those difficulties, I decided to abort the calibation. I still
think someone should give a shot at analyzing the little data we took.
