keyword=Swing Shift Summary
16:00 Reset HRS-L back to B5 kinematics to take more HRS-L sieve data. HRS-L sieve keeps getting stuck going down. Paged Ed.
16:30 Call MCC for an access. Scot is going to go down in the hall and fix the collimator.
17:20 Steve & Ed return fromt he hall to report that, indeed, the HRS-L collimator has a bad bearing and it needs to be fixed. The collimator is now in the "sieve" position, and we will take the HRS-L sieve data at B5, followed by a spectrometer change to B10 & the B10 optics data, starting with the HRS-L sieve data. Then we will have the target changed, and Ed will work on the collimator during beam studies tomorrow.
18:06 MCC called to let us know that in addition to the PSS being down, an arc 7 magnet has also failed. People are furiously working on both problems.
18:14 PSS replacing a power supply 30-40 minutes best estimate
ARC 7 power supply calling magnet experts.
19:30 MCC called to let us know that we won't have any beam until 21:30 at the earliest.
20:42 Still Down...
21:00 Adam (RC) called to ask us to move spectrometers if no beam before 22:00-22:30. This is a one-way-trip...
21:42 Could not get HRS-L Bogies screen to come up so at Alexandre's advice, we rebooted the VME crate. Success!
22:04 Begin moving spectrometers to B10 kinematics...
22:25 Still trying to fix the ARC 7 magnet.
22:36 HRS-R spectrometer motion not responding after several resets of the crate.
22:46 Ed Folts called after reading the logbook and seeing that we were having difficulties with the spectrometer motion. We requested an access to get the spectrometer moved.
22:55 Ed & ARM arrived to make the access and move the spectrometer into position. Still no beam.
23:13 By the shear force of Ed's will, we got the HRS-R moved to 29.439 degrees. They're coming out of the hall.
23:25 MCC sending for another set of magnet experts...this is not looking up.
00:00 Shift ends with no beam, but Andrew found a target operator.
