First of all for the techs: I had to use a VME crate for a
card (it just gets its power from VME), so I used the one
in rack 1H75B21. The crate has stuff in it like PUMP COMMAND
SIGNALS CRATE DAC and ANALOG OUT SIGNALS CRATE ADC. I dont
know if it will cause trouble to turn this on, but I assumed not.
I asked Mark Stevens and he said he thought it was ok.
The rest is not for techs....
I used the GeN VME-based amplifier downstairs and observed the
raster current is very triangular (no oscillations like on those
HRS amps). Plugged this in on both HRS in the usual Fastbus
channels and got the spectrum below. This should be good enough
for the experiment.
I did not change the other electronics (BPMs or raster slope).
Checked all signals on raster & bpm -- look good. If the raster
is ever run at higher current we may saturate the ADC and require
an adjustment. The ADC saturates at 8192 and anything above that
shows up as 16384 as a delta-fcn peak. If you see that ...
