keyword=Radiation MonitorsI've setup the strip chart below as a way to monitor the quality of the beam coming into the Hall. The objective is to prevent activation of the beam line like that on March 24-25 of this year. The most critical trace, based on the experience of March 24-25, is rad29_p1. This monitors the gamma radiation level in the tunnel upstream of the Hall. rad29_p2 is in the same place and measures neutrons. (rad44_p1 & p2 are in the Hall)
During March 24-25 rad29_p1 was reading between 10^4 and 10^5 (off scale on the strip chart).
Shiftworkers should log this chart at least once per shift. A rise off scale of any of the traces is cause for concern. Contact the run coordinator and MCC.
