    For long runs there is a rollover of the 32nd bit, which the
    various codes take as a sign bit. See below for run 4055.
    So if it averages u3 and d3 (upstream downstream), it takes
    0.5 * (295103 + (basically zero) ). And for x10 it gets a
    negative number. I'll make a plot in a minute of counts vs time
    in a follow-up.
