    Entry number 212297

    keyword=tech /Dipole

    Called in for a quench on the right Dipole.

    I had directed shift worker to reset on the phone but when he did he got a power supply fault. When I got here the magnet control screen showed the current the same as it had before the reset as shown in entry #212285 with a coil voltage quench and the current at 22.83.

    The user said that they had change the momentum earlier and the next time he looked the magnet showed the quench

    I clicked on the 0 amps button and the set current went to 0

    Clicked on reset and the magnet reset fine.

    Clicked on the on button and the magnet started and came on.

    Entered 100 amps and the magnet ramped.

    Tried to change the momentum by 1 digit and it would not take.

    Entered a new momentum and it ramped to it and seems to be working now.

    It appears that the current readout did not clear and when he tried to restart the magnet after the first reset it caused the power supply to fault. Is it now necessary to manually clear the current in the controls when resetting the power supply?
