    I checked the MPS signal in the counting room. It has the correct
    time structure. It looks like it might be flipped in polarity coming
    out of the fiber translator but I'm not 100% sure.

    If it did flip this would explain the problems we had with helicity
    that last two days (see halog trail about this). One thing we should
    check is the timing of LNE, i.e. the "load next event" for the scaler.
    This is supposed to come about 1 usec after the gate goes false, so
    that the scalers get loaded when they are not counting, but if the
    polarity flips I think this LNE timing would be wrong. I'll check it the next access. Since you don't care about small charge asymmetries and such things I suppose it is not urgent.

    No important signals were disrupted during this investigation.
