keyword=R-HRS Charge Asymmetry?
I looked at the charge asymmetry from R-HRS runs 20721 and 20722. Run
20721 was taken right before the large charge asymmetry was induced, and
Run 20722 was taken when the charge asymmetry was large. The asymmetry
is quite puzzling. Run 20721 shows about a -1900 ppm asymmetry, but Run
20722 shows only a +250 ppm charge asymmetry. Hence a change of about
2100 ppm. The relative change is consistent with what the L-HRS DAQ saw,
but the absolute value is quite different.
We already believe that the MPS signal for the R-HRS scalers is missing.
But it is also possible that the R-HRS scalers do not have the correct
setup of clearing and gating, since it was not checked as closely as the
L-HRS.
If we are concerned about the R-HRS as independent check of the helicity,
then we might want to fix this tomorrow during the beam studies.
