    Without MPS there is no blanking of the large transients from the helicity transition.
    The Pockel Cell HV swings from -3 kV to +3 kV with overshoots. This may cancel but
    then it depends on how identical the HV are and well your gate is aligned with their gate.
    It is why we use MPS which is apparently missing on R-HRS scalers. I guess if we are
    going to worry about ppm asymmetries (?) we should take access and check the R-HRS.
