keyword=Compton Polarization Measurements During Unpolarized 4-Pass Running

I took a look at the Compton history for the period of unpolarized 4-pass running from Feb. 23 to Feb. 25.

We consistently measure asymmetries between 1.5% and 2% (Fig. 1) during this time. According to our rough cross-calibration with the Moller, this corresponds to a beam polarization between 15% and 20%.

We note that the calibration with the Moller was done at five-pass and will introduce some systematic error when used at 4-pass, proportional to changes in the detector response function at the two energies. This response function is being studied but is not fully characterized yet.
