keyword=Reference cell pressure gauge calibration
When I came to shift tonight I checked the gauges for the
reference cell, and they were showing following values:
LEFT GAUGE: 757 - 782 Torr
RIGHT GAUGE: 009 Psig
If I convert these numbers in to [bar] units (Easier for me to
understand) I get following values:
LEFT GAUGE: 777Torr = 1.026 bar
RIGHT GAUGE: 9 psig = (9+15)psi = 1.65 bar
When Jin called me, I asked him about this difference and
he told me that there is a know problem with the gauge offsets.
He suggested me to do some calibration measurements.
Here are the results :
What Miha did | Left Gauge [Torr] | Right Gauge [psig]
===================================================================
In the beginning | 757 - 782 | 009
| |
Vented the target | 756(7) | -002(3)
| |
Evacuated the target | -002 | -017
| |
N2 to atm. press | 886 | 000
===================================================================
Vented target again | 757 | -002(3)
| |
Evacuated the target | -002 | -017
| |
N2 back in | 343 | -010
| 617 | -005
| 864 | 000
| 723 - 744 | 005
| 774 - 789 | 010
In the end of "my little experiment" I put again 10psig of N2
into the reference cell.
