keyword=Compton DAQ flaky at high rate
I noticed the DAQ often crashing. Tried rebooting the compton computer which by the way came back first without mounting the raid array... hopefully it came back after rebooting again.
I suspect the scaler to count the photons and generate the interrupt when the buffer reaches the event limit is affected by the bad NIM/ECL converter too so the event count will overflow at high rates even though I took some run on noise of the order of several tens of kilohertz this morning. I did not put the V1495 to replace the V538A because I have not received the NIM input output. I guess will install a NIM crate, there is a NIM/ECL converter in the middle room of counting house with a TIR output on it going nowhere after so I will check if I can use it for the Compton DAQ. Might install that at the next down, depending on how fast spikes in rates get solved. The spikes in rate make worse this condition too. Another quick solution would be to replace the 1151 by a 1151N with NIM input, I have a few of those in the Compton storage box
